Gunung Belumut

Mountain Intro:
Mount Belumut (Gunung Belumut), standing at 1,010 metres (3,314 ft), is located in the state of Johor, Malaysia. The trek can be completed in one day, while the average climber would take two days one night. For the average climber, the climb to the summit takes 5 to 6 hours and the return to the foot (by the same route) takes 3 to 4 hours.
Before reaching the summit of Gunung Belumut, climbers will first pass by a 'false summit', where overnight camping is possible in fair weather conditions. From the 'false summit', it's about half-an-hour's trek to the summit. A huge boulder, named the Crown Rock, sits on the summit. The boulder got its name because it looks like a giant crown.

Date Of Expedition: 14 May 2011,16 July 2011

We start our journey to Gunung Belumut from Kota Tinggi where we stay over for a nite at Ayie's house.
The plan was to hike Gunung Ledang but due to some 'silly' restriction implemented by the Johor Forestry we are unable to get a permit. We diverted our route to Kluang instead with a hope to make the climb on time.We reach the foot of the mountain full of hopes,we ready up our gear and proceed towards the entrance.Yet again we were stopped by a so-called 'Fat' ranger demanding a permit. We were devastated thinking that our plan disrupted again. There's no way for us to proceed with our climb as we doesn't obtain a permit for it........
After a long discussion among us and a quick discussion with the 'Fat' Ranger....he allowed us to enter but only to camp around the vicinity...As we make our way in,we saw some trek mark which means that someone has gone all the way in from the other side of the mountain....So with our 'clever' idea we decided to follow the trek.......what follow was a horrible but fun experience...

As darkness beckon...we have to pitch a tent on the Rockz.....
Could you believe 3 person slept in that tent on that kind of place...Kidney Stone!!

The night was horrible, with eerie sound coming from all corners...our food outside got ransacked by dunno who...leg got pulled by dunno what....hhmmm,let's not get into detail about that...but to our amaze one of our member(Hero Kampung Ayie) manage to sleep from 7 p.m to 7 a.m...or maybe he pretend to be sleeping coz he's scared of the darkness....LOL!!
Woke up the next morning feeling a bit refresh after our so called 'sleep'.....wash up here and there pack up and ready to proceed back to the entrance...Oh..forget to mention that the place we pitch our tent is a LEECH HIVE....dunno got suck how many times until can't be bother to take it out...We make our way back to the entrance by following the stream...as we can't remember where we came from yesterday....Thank God we are not lost.....

LoL...Triple H wannabee....!!

We return to the Mountain after couple of month,
