Tengkil Waterfall

With the destination set, crew members set and date set,of we go for our second expedition. With little information gathered from the net about this mountain,we decided to try our luck....Our goal here is not to climb to the peak but just to find the so-called hidden waterfall which some of the locals say is one of the most beautiful waterfall in Johor....A 60 metre vertical cascading waterfall by the name of Tengkil Waterfall..
What we gathered from the net is that this place is like a giant maze...even the entrance to the foot of the mountain is concealed,to make matters worst...the only access to the starting point is by a 4x4...
But yet again we decided to try our luck...
Our meeting point is again at Ayie's house as it is the nearest and most convenience place to meet...Time sharp at 1000hrs we pack up our stuff, buy some snacks and PARANGS(this place is really an untouched jungle, many carnivore have been spotted by the locals,so its better be safe then sorry)and ready to go.....
We make our way to Petri Jaya which is not that far from Kota Tinggi, once there we need to find an entrance into a Kelapa Sawit plantation which will lead to the mountain, btw there are many entrance around that area,so finding the right one is a bit hard...even so,we manage to find the right one with our first guess...The road was meant for a 4x4 but we gamble through with our sedan car,its a very bumpy rite with some pause here and there to find the correct path, one wrong turn and you are lost...we proceed for about 7km b4 the track ends..electric fence have been set up so we need to go under it...We ready our stuff, park our car in the middle of the jungle and set off on foot...

End of the road...
We continue on foot to cross the Kelapa Sawit Plantation which took us another 5km...Ok,lets cut the story short, during our first expedition,we trek for more than 15km but to no avail....we didn't manage to find the entrance to the Gunung....as it is getting dark,we decided to walk all the way back to our car and proceed home(with some eerie encounter).A total of about 25km of trekking which doesn't award us with anything...Feeling rather a bit of disappoinment as our goal is not accomplish...
After doin further research and a 3 person recce team,we manage to find where is the entrance...
So we set up another return to the mountain....
This time with abit more information,we proceed through the same route, park our car at the same spot, and make our way through the same plantation...after just about 5 km of trekking, there is a 'lake' full with water on our right, but beside it is a dried up lake which the water is actually underneath the sand...thats is the place which we need to cross, the place is abit dangerous as any wrong steps and u will be suck under the sand, not entirely but at least till your thigh...a few of us including me got suck in...along our way we saw some snake, monitor lizard, wild boar(alot),deer and TIGER footprint...which make us even more scared...if ur lucky u can even see elephant footprint...If u even more luckier u can see them face to face....The locals there called the TIGER by the name of Jingo, which they say is Tame...but tame or not we rather not see it face to face....
After crossing the dry up lake,we need to follow a waterfall stream which will lead us to the trek to start the climb....The climb is not that hard...only at some area u need to make a 70 degrees accend....Ok enough with the story...Lets continue with pictures.....
